I have access to the Mt Washington Climb to the Clouds mailing list (its good to live next door to the steward...) PS Rally Sprint at Camp Read in Brant Lake on Sept 29th! I talked with Mike Hartson, the organizer last fall and he is having second thoughts about continuing. As I said earlier it is low key with some interesting cars. Nice drive on fun roads. So if you have an interesting car, you should come. The weather is great that time of year. There is an excellent restaurant near by. . There is plenty of room for trailers. Never ran the Saab there. Not sure about Bob but I doubt it.nondisclosed_email@example.com (rc vedder)Tue, 28 Nov 2017 18:33:00 +0000 Re: Keene Hillclimb Reunionhttps://bamecmessageboard.runboard.com/p308870,from=rss#post308870https://bamecmessageboard.runboard.com/p308870,from=rss#post308870That's great Mike, thanks for posting it. Dick Vedder can you verify for me: I think I saw your SAAB in the movie and possibly Bob Winter? Your race car often was your daily driver or close. You drove it to the races. For Keene, we would leave early in the morning and practice on the way. Performance stuff hardly existed. No special tires of the month existed. A helmet and a seat belt were the only requirements. Our Street Legal ice racing class sort of replicates that. For most.nondisclosed_email@example.com (rc vedder)Thu, 08 Sep 2016 09:31:11 +0000 Re: Keene Hillclimb Reunionhttps://bamecmessageboard.runboard.com/p308437,from=rss#post308437https://bamecmessageboard.runboard.com/p308437,from=rss#post308437That's great Richard, I just read a small write up about that and there are not a lot of guys still around that participated in those events. It sounds like a great day to listen to some good bench racing from when men were men and you could work on your car without a computer! Held annually to remember the hill climbs that were held in the late '50's,early 60's. A low key event. If you have an interesting car an even if you don't aka: my Fiesta, it is free and if it is a nice day, a beautiful ride through Keene Valley and before. A perk is three spirited runs up the mountain. I won trophies all three times I ran with my mighty Goliath in class. 3rd in '58 2nd in '59 an 1st in '61. Just a fun, relaxing day.nondisclosed_email@example.com (rc vedder)Wed, 07 Sep 2016 10:40:16 +0000
