Re: Wells Watch. What temp was it when you noticed?

Saranac is about 20 miles from Tupper.
When I went up yesterday I was anticipating bitter cold.
When I left Johnstown about 10 AM it was -3F
It was interesting that the temperatures stayed pretty much the same all of the way up.
It was -4F at the lake. It was beautiful.
Lots of sunshine and no wind.

I was up in Elizabeth, NY today [exit 31 Northway] and there were kids playing ice hockey on a pond. A local told me there was 5" of good ice and they were riding ATV's on it earlier in the day.

I removed the Caroga Lake wunderground thing from the top of the message board. It was reporting the weather from Groversville which a bit different. I put a link to [sign in to see URL] which is much more accurate.

Wunderground is a neat concept which uses amateur weather stations for data. There used to be one at the Caroga Lake school but it is no longer reporting data.

The weather forcast doesn't take into the effect of the wind, which is predicted to be strong out of the wnw, making it feel more like ZERO.
