Re: BIGGEST Enduro thread ever........

Accord is having a $1000 to win (based on 25 cars) Enduro on Oct. 13th. Just throwing this out there as I know Mike likes this track and has run it in the past.

Thanks very much Jeffy. It seems that everyone I know stopped enduro racing for one reason or another. I've got no enthusiam left at the moment. My junk will stay in the woods where it's been for some time. If I do anything this fall, it will be to go and spectate.

BTW, my friend Albert ran in the Accord event last year and said it was an outright demo derby. Three years ago when I ran there, Ken Marshall was the flagger and it was a really clean race.

Link to my post about last years Wreckage in the Catskill

It is a great event to spectate. Driving in it is a young man sport though.

Anyone interested in going just to sit in the stands and spectate let me know, I may head up there for that show.

Jeffy I plan to be hillclimbing that weekend, but if that falls through for any reason, I'll let you know. I'd be happy to watch the race with you!

I talked to someone that was at Accord last weekend and he confirmed that for the second year in a row, the "Wreckage in the Catskills" enduro was in fact a slam fest again. emoticon

Wow, I've never seen a $5,000 race with NO entry fee! They must be filling the stands!

Entry fee is how much you value your car.

"Must leave car after the race with title"

It's time to put a book end on one of the biggest threads on this forum. After three years of sitting, I am now sure that I have no desire to go back enduro racing again. So I put a battery in the old #46 Paseo and it started up immediately, just like it always did. As always, it happily drove right onto the trailer. What a great car this was. It never failed to finish a race and had an incredible win/loss ratio.

Image

It was now time to put it to rest so I filled it up with scrap metal.

Image

From it's 1,800 lb. weight I got it up to 3,550 lbs. and took home $415 for it.

Remembering the good times......
