Election of Officers for 2005

That's right,
The time of year is once again upon us where we need to start thinking about this year's election of new officers for the club.

Image

After a five year term of unexcelled service to our great club as the A.M.E.C. Secretary, Jamie Burnham will not be running for reelection this coming January. Thank you Jamie for your dedication and for raising the A.M.E.C. organization up to a new level of professionalism. Image

At the next [December] monthly A.M.E.C. meeting, we will be accepting nominations for all A.M.E.C. officer positions, including President, V.P., Secretary, and Treasurer.

We will also accept nominations by email, phone call, snail mail, heck, you can even post them right here!

Image

So please consider helping out your club as getting involved is the best way to enjoy all that this great organization has to offer!

Thanks for putting the word out Mike. The secretaries Job is a very important job in AMEC Jamie and Myself will be happy to tell anyone interested in the job description. But heres a quick overview. You get to make decisions regarding the club with the other officers when non complete membership decisions are required. Some of the other duties are taking the minutes of the monthly meetings, signing and sending out membership cards, keeping track of the membership and doing an occasional Newsletter. The Newsletters that Jamie has been doing are really nice with lots of extras it gives the club a very polished look but is not a requirement. Getting the news out it the main objective, so don't let the newsletter or any of the other jobs keep you from volunteering. Its a great way to get to see the day to day running of a well polished organization like AMEC. Please call me or Jamie and ask questions if your interested in helping out.
Thanks,
Dave Burnham

Jamie was a calm and steady presence for a newbie.
Thank you Jamie.

Anyone know what year this was?

Here's a picture that my wife took at one of our elections banquets some years ago. I think it was at a restaurant on Route 50 in Saratoga. I remember that Ken Marshal set it up for us. Thanks Kenny! I'll bet Dave or Bruce will remember the name of the place.

The pic shows a sample of those in attendance, including from rear left: Randy Koehler, Bruce Carlton, Dana Hutchings, Ken Marshal, Ryan Marshal, Dick Vedder [and front row L to R]: Mike Glock, Dave Burnham, yours truly, and current A.M.E.C. President, Claude Hutchings.

I highly recommend attending A.M.E.C.'s Elections Banquet/ and January Meeting. Spouses are encouraged to come and don't worry, it is more of a dinner and social than it is a nuts and bolts meeting, with the important part being the elections for A.M.E.C.'s new club officers for April of 2005.

It is always on the first Saturday night of January. The location has not been determined yet, but we will discuss it at this month's meeting which will be next monday [Dec. 13th] at Poor John's in Burnt Hills.

Don't remember the year but it was Leo's restaurant. We sure looked younger and had lots of sweaters!

As you know Dave,
We had two members decline nominations for the much needed Secretary's position at last night's meeting. This was very disappointing.

Image I was Secretary for five full years and enjoyed the job and doing my part to support A.M.E.C. Dave, you yourself did it for many years and now Jamie has served five full terms. This is not a difficult job and it is very satisfying to be a one of the four club officers and participate in the decision making process. Plus of course all officers' annual dues are complimentary. emoticon

Jamie has made it clear that she will be leaving the position after this term is up. We need someone to step up and join the team. Please consider it. This means you, not the person next to you, or on the other side of the room. Image

Can you think of a better group you could ever work with? Image

Dues are Due!

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a great Christmas.

I just wanted to remind those of you who have not sent in your annual membership renewal form and dues to do so before or at the Elections banquet on Januaray 8th.

After January 8th there is a $5 late fee and your car number is up for grabs.

I have received the box of Bridgestone promotional items and will have the Bridgestone Blizzak decals available to all SLU racers [SL racers too if you want them] for their cars. I have them available in red, black, and white to stand out nicely against your car's exterior color.

Dick, please sign up my family [2 adult meals and 1 child meal] for the Elections dinner/meeting. Thanks!

Mike, Got you reservation for the dinner, so far only 12 people have signed up. I'm sure there are many who are coming but just haven't let me know.
I was just wondering, will all SLU cars be required to show the Bridgestone sticker or just those running Blizzaks for the money?
